remove swearing from Twitter results
There was a few results had quite a bit of swearing in so they're probably not the best examples of the word usage
6 votesAdminWordnik (Admin, Wordnik) respondedWe’re planning to offer a filtered/unfiltered view soon. Although a few well-placed obscenities can often make for a very interesting example …

Colors of the site make it hard to see
A little color theory goes a long way. Low-contrast backgrounds that contain similar color elements to those used in fonts create conditions that make the website difficult to use, especially for those 10% of American men with some form of colorblindness
6 votesAdminWordnik (Admin, Wordnik) respondedThank you — we’re working on updating our design and will make sure to check it for color-vision problems.

Authentication of the user entered content
User is allowed to enter the meaning of the new words. How can other be sure of the authentication of the word? I think that there should be some authentication mechanism in place so that the quality of the dictionary can be maintained.

Make searches insensitive to accents
When searching for words with accents (umlauts, etc), we currently need to actually enter the accented letter. It would be easier if "née" and "nee" could bring up the same search results.

Drawing tool for visual mnemonics or definitions
Flash drawing applet.
Example: a definition of incisive could be embellished by drawing an image of incisor teeth, a letter cut in two.
Flag drawing as inappropriate option, too ;)
5 votesAdminWordnik (Admin, Wordnik) respondedThanks — we don’t really have the skillset to tackle this right now (we’re word people, not image people). But if you have drawings you’d like to have Wordnik search, you can always add them to Flickr with the appropriate keywords …

The statistics are incorrect for 'news'. It is not rare
The statistics are incorrect for 'news'. It is not a rare word, I have definitely seen it before. Can users help correct such errors?
4 votesAdminWordnik (Admin, Wordnik) respondedThank you!
Soon we’ll have a way for users to give us feedback on the frequency ratings. Right now we’re fighting a little bug in the statistics counter. It should be resolved soon!

We’d love to do that … we love the OED! We’ll have to figure out how frustrating it would be to users to link to something that costs ~$250/year to access, though.

It's much more professional and easier to use

Employ mascot powers. Cute pets give rise unto word love.
Cute sketches of familiar totems inspire trust, devotion, at least a smile. Recruit a good one.
3 votesAdminWordnik (Admin, Wordnik) respondedWe’re currently accepting mascot applications. Characters should have at least three years of mascot experience, preferably in the education or consumer-web field. Should be kid-friendly, but not juvenile. Please, no characters from products rated MA or above.
